Indian feast raises £3,300

More than 80 people came together for a “Bangles and Bindi” fundraising night to support the work of Outreach 3 Way.  The Tarana Restaurant in Turners Hill hosted the event on 15 November and provided a delicious buffet meal. Indian dancing demonstrations and the opportunity to try out the Indian art of Mendhi were provided by sisters Komal and Jayshree Parekh.

A Silent Auction raised £300 on the night, with a camera, smart phone and i-pod docking station generously donated by Radiopaq, SOS Systems and Cellular Solutions.  A raffle raised another £300.  Guests loved wearing Bindi in jewel colours, enjoyed the wonderful food and were encouraged to try out a little Bollywood dancing as well!

Restaurant owner Shah Koreshi presented a cheque for £830 to Catherine Sweeney, Outreach 3 Way’s Chief Executive Officer, on the night. In total, the event raised over £3,300 including matched giving by Basepoint. The evening was a huge success and we hope to stage a similar event next year.
