Short breaks in Crawley
Parents and carers who are looking after adults with learning disabilities often benefit from a short, regular break from caring. Of course, parents need to be certain that their adult son or daughter's needs are being met and that they are having a good time.
Queen's Lodge manager Lisa Oxlade says, "People come to Queen's Lodge needing different levels of support. Some clients need one to one support, while other don't. Parents and carers use the service in different ways - they can use it regularly, or only once a year when they go on holiday".
What does Queen's Lodge provide?
At Queen's Lodge we offer expert care for up to nine people aged eighteen or over. We meet care needs on an individually-assessed basis and provide waking night staff. There are eight bedrooms, with two en suite bedrooms on the ground floor. One room is available for emergency respite, but normally all bookings must be planned in advance following a formal care management assessment. If you would like to know more about how to set things in motion, we'll be happy to advise.
A useful stepping stone
People with learning disabilities who are looking to live independently can use Queen's Lodge as a stepping stone on the way. Accommodation is short-term, and not designed for long stays.
